Just a quick sign post. It is a long summer break is the USA. As the America teens are running out of enthusiasm for pretty much everything, Google has stepped up and this week released a virtual Camp Google (ending early August) aimed at children 7 to 10. It’s a stella backroom team; Khan Academy, the National Park Service, National Geographic Kids, and NASA. Just the right team to ask the big questions, to take the our young pioneers on a journey of exploration and discovery.
Each week, the camp has a different theme: The first week will focus on the Ocean, then Space, Nature, and finally, Music.
A mixture of expert videos and do-it-yourself activities (Camp Google provides a supplies list) enables campers to earn badges. Although I could find the details, I also read that there will be a series of “immersive livestream events” ( 12 p.m. PT) that campers can participate in. Guess the time difference might prove difficult – that is an hour after bed time. Not too big a worry, Google will be archiving all the videos on the Camp Google site.
Harry and I will be dipping in.
