Tough one isn’t it. I think part of the solution is a relentless belief that every student can make excellent progress. If we believe it maybe they will. Whenever they say I can’t do it, respond with you can’t do it yet. I think we need to have the same belief that all teachers can be outstanding

Success comes in cans – failures comes in cants. A little sickly but useful.Failure is fertiliser.
Ask students to fold their arms, then unfold them and refold them the other way? It is not that its wrong, but something new can feel a little uncomfortable to start with.
