The official MootUK11 website shares the conference theme ‘Strength Through Diversity,’ to reflect the breadth of interest in Moodle and this can only be considered a positive development. On the downside, I am a little disappointed, as I was last year, that there are not more Primary and Secondary moodlers attending but with the conference falling outside term time its perhaps understandable.
Last year, the ‘buzz’ was about the impending release of Moodle 2.0 and this year I am hoping that the community will have some ‘first impressions’ to share. As you can see by just a few of my workshop selections….
- Mastering the Moodle 2 Workshop Module
- Introducing the new Moodle question engine
- Monitoring student progress and annotating assignments online
…it is unlikely I will be left disappointed a second time. If you have not yet booked your sessions, then they can be found here.
Its also worth noting the addition of the 1-day pre-Moot developer Unconference and the contribution of Dan Humpherson as well as the conference iPhone app and the conference blog where presenters are already providing a little more insight to the presentations.
On a personal note I am looking forward to meeting @Davosmith and Ray Lawrence @HowtoMoodle and catching up with Philip Butler, Frank Steiner, Mary Cooch @moodlefairy and Drew Buddie @digitalmaverick again, always a pleasure.
Tweets are slow proliferating my Twitterstream as interest and anticipation begins to grow, so here’s to a productive two days.
