Always on the look out for inspiring stories, I had originally overlooked the William Kamkwamba story. I was teaching PE at the time and I was perhaps blinkered towards sporting, coaching anecodotes.

2-3 years since I first read about the ‘The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind‘ I am again redirected towards his achievements as he starts his American book tour. It always was a truly inspiring story, 14 years old Malawian boy builds his family an electricity-generating windmill from spare parts, working from rough plans he found in a library, but now in my new role, there is now greater relevance. I would like to adapt his story and share it a school audience, perhaps the seeds of a another mentor project?
